Architect Intern (May 2021 - August 2021)
With this internship, I was successfully able to design a database using Microsoft Excel to archive existing architectural drawings and files inherited from a previous architecture company. I made sure this database was easily accessible for other employees by showcasing my work with those around me. Similarly, using this database, I was able to take concepts from previous plans and implement them into current plans for residential and commercial drawings using AutoCAD. Using AutoCAD, I have created door and window schedules for various architects, fielding requests whenever needed.
Thermodynamics Grader (February 2022 - May 2024)
As a grader for thermodynamics, I feel as if this position helps me better understand the fundamental principles of the class because I am able to assist students with their understanding and coursework. Similarly, with this position, I am able to present material in a more "digestible" manner than what may be presented out of a textbook or PowerPoint presentation. This has allowed me to work in a "ground up" basis when communicating with students, which has allowed me to better present other material relating to my extracurricular or other classes.
MATLAB Tutor (October 2021-December 2021)
As a MATLAB tutor, I have had the opportunity to explore areas of MATLAB I would have never been able to considering the various projects and assignments I would assist other student in. With this position, I was able to hone in on my MATLAB fundamentals along with learning new programming techniques and functions I have used in later classes. I was hired for this position due to my final project where I programmed a functional Pokédex that would operate using complete or partial user inputs while displaying everything from Pokémon image, type(s), and possible move sets within the first generation of the franchise.
Remodel Team Member (May 2022 - August 2022)
As a member of the remodel team for my local Super Target, I had the responsibility to constantly adapt to an ever-changing environment: due to the nature of the remodeling process, it was a necessity to allow for other departments to operate as smooth as possible without the remodel team interfering with their everyday tasks. Similarly, while moving shelves across the store, or completely rebuilding a department within a matter of days, it remained a priority to assist guests with whatever they needed.
With this, I had the opportunity to communicate my progress with other members of the remodel team as it was usually split into two day-shift groups working on opposite sides of the store. This ensured a relatively fast store remodel as there were few, if any at all, scheduling conflicts.
General Merchandise Team Member (May 2023 - August 2023; June 2024 - August 2024)
With this position, I learned more about how the company operates and communicates from store to store. In addition to organizing and stocking home decorations, bulky furniture, and baby accessories, I would help unload the daily truck into designated store vehicles such that other departments could easily find and push their product within a timely manner. Whenever I would finish pushing my department, I was relied upon to assist other departments with their merchandise if there was much more to be done. Despite this, however, I would still be responsible for my department, so whenever a guest had questions or needed assistance, my department became a priority.
As a general merchandise team member, it was required to have a general knowledge of every department and position within the store, such that I could help in other areas if needed. Other areas included online order pickup, guest services, or help organizing the backrooms.
